Workshop "EnviroSeis : from process to signal – advancing environmental seismology" (Ohlstadt)

Publié le 3 janvier 2017

**A Galileo international workshop
In this workshop, we aim to discuss the current use of seismic techniques in the study of the Earth’s surface and the processes that act upon it, a field that we collectively refer to as ‘Environmental Seismology’.
We invite all scientists who already use or who intend to use seismic techniques to study geomorphological processes, the cryosphere, the weather, the shallow subsurface and other phenomena at or near the Earth’s surface.

Conference "Chemical Principles of Environmental, Cellular & Organismal Nanotoxicology" (San Francisco)

Publié le 3 janvier 2017

**Conference during 253rd American Chemical Society national meeting & exposition (San Francisco)
Advanced technologies rely increasingly on the fabrication and use of nanoscale materials. It is now well understood that nanomaterial enabled products, like any new technology, can pose risks to humans and the environment during manufacture, distribution and disposal. However, a comprehensive view of the chemical, materials and biological principles for nanomaterial toxicity remains to be (...)

Séminaire "A pan-African inter-comparison of the relationship between precipitation and groundwater recharge from in-situ observations and large-scale models" (Campus Grenoble)

Publié le 7 décembre 2016

Séminaire du LTHE, animé par Jean-Martial Cohard (IGE-PhyRev) Salle Lliboutry - LGGE, Bâtiment Molière - Domaine Universitaire
Abstract Global coverage of groundwater-level monitoring networks is limited so assessments of groundwater recharge and storage changes in many regions rely upon output from : (1) global-scale hydrological and land-surface models (GHMs, LSMs) and (2) GRACE satellite observations in which groundwater storage changes are isolated using model data. Such models are also (...)
